Bankhouse Farm, Cholmondeley
A more recent farmhouse memory for the family. Sue and John farmed there as tenants in the period 1975-1990 or so. The farm formed part of Lord Cholmondeley's Estate and is close to the Castle.
History is all about people - there really is nothing else. I want to tell history and herstory, against the background of place and events. Some of the stories here are from my own family and others draw on research for friends or news reports. I would be happy to help you to tell the stories of your family and the people that you wish to commemorate. Just contact me. In this Blog, I am going back to my ancestral name and calling myself Joe Shorrocks - but you can also find me under my everyday name Keith Johnson at: www.kjohnsonnz.blogspot.com. How one became the other is unfolded among the stories told.
